Send a payment request

Last updated October 4, 2026

Summary

Ask a customer to pay a specific amount online.

When to use it

An extra charge after the appointment, a package paid up front, or a balance a customer wants to settle before arriving.

How it works

Create the request with an amount and a note. The customer gets a secure link, pays by card, and the payment is recorded against them.

Tips

On Payments, under Checkout, Let customers add a tip shows 15%, 20%, 25%, and a custom amount on the customer payment page. The customer can also choose No tip. If a custom amount is too high, the page states the most they can tip on that visit. When the switch is off, the payment page does not ask for a tip.

After payment

The paid page shows the amount, the tip when one was added, the method, when it was paid, and a receipt code. The customer can choose Print receipt. The page says they can close it. It does not say a receipt email was sent.

Requirement

A connected Stripe account.

Tracking

Outstanding and paid requests are listed under Payments, and paid requests count towards your reported online payments.
