Barber shaping a client's haircut with clippers

Barbers

Barber booking software for shops and independent barbers

A barber shop sells chairs by the service: a cut, a beard trim, a lineup, each with its own length and price. OperMae is a booking system for that book. Clients pick a barber who is actually free, instead of texting the shop to ask.

The book falls apart when every barber shares one thread

Two barbers, one phone, and a Saturday column written in messages means the same 2:00 gets promised twice. A fade and a beard trim do not take the same amount of the chair, even when the shop treats them as “a quick one.”

OperMae publishes each barber’s services and hours. The client books a real opening. The shop keeps the visit, the client, and the reminder in one place.

What a barber shop can set up

  • A service menu with real durations

Give a haircut, a beard trim, a shave, and a longer appointment their own duration and price. An add-on, such as a beard with the cut, can add minutes and price to that same visit.

  • Each barber’s own book

Assign the services that barber performs and set their weekly hours and time off. A client chooses that barber, or the first available barber who offers the service.

  • A deposit only where you want one

A deposit is optional on each service. It is a dollar amount charged when they book, through the Stripe account you connect, and the rest is collected at the visit. Leave a short cut as pay at the shop.

  • Confirmations, reminders, and a way to change the time

The client gets an email confirmation. Email reminders can go out 24 hours before and 2 hours before, when those reminders are on. Text reminders go only to clients who opt in, and only within the plan’s message allowance. They can cancel or move the visit from the link in the confirmation, within the rule you publish.

How a barber appointment is booked

  1. The client opens the shop page

They see the services and prices you published. On a phone, that page is the booking system. OperMae does not install a separate shop app.

  2. They pick the service and the barber

Someone who does not offer that service does not appear for it. The times come from that barber’s hours.

  3. They confirm against your policy

Your cancellation note is shown before they confirm, and again in the confirmation.

  4. The chair time is held for that barber

The appointment blocks that barber for the length of the service, plus any add-on minutes. The shop sees it on the calendar.

Barber shop examples

  • One barber, a full Saturday

Your hours are the book. When a time is taken, the next client can join the waitlist. Joining does not hold the slot. If that appointment is cancelled, OperMae can email a claim link, and the first person to claim it gets the time.

  • Two barbers with different menus

One person does cuts and beard work. Another does cuts only. Each keeps their own hours. The page does not offer a beard trim with the barber who does not do them.

  • A long appointment you do not want to lose

Turn the deposit on for that service only. OperMae does not add a platform fee. Stripe’s processing fees still apply, and OperMae does not charge a late fee on its own.

What the shop keeps

  • Each client’s past visits and your private notes stay on their profile.
  • You decide how far ahead a client may cancel or reschedule online.
  • Reports can summarize bookings and payments for a period you choose, and you can export them.
  • The page does not run a line for guests who arrive without a booking, and it does not calculate staff pay or track products you sell.

Questions

Can each barber have different services?

Yes. Assign the services that person performs. Clients book them only for those services, during the hours you set for them.

Is this a booking app?

Clients book on your OperMae page from a phone or a computer. It is the shop’s booking system. It is not a separate app you download from an app store.

Can the shop take walk-up guests or track retail?

No. This is online booking for scheduled barber appointments. It does not manage guests who arrive without a booking, and it does not track products you sell.
